Off the Screen is the designation of the Summer Course that will take place during the MDOC – Melgaço International Documentary Film Festival.

The Summer Course 2019 focuses on the general theme of the Melgaço International Documentary Festival - Identity, Memory and Border and addresses issues of Contemporary Narratives from research projects and audiovisual production and digital narratives - hypermedia, transmedia... It also intends to articulate and bring together experiences from diverse backgrounds - universities and cultural producers, different countries and continents. It also collaborates with REDARTH - International Cooperation Network in Education, Arts and Humanities with the objective of fostering international cooperation between higher education institutions and cultural producers in the field of Education, Arts and Humanities.

The Summer Course is an initiative of AO NORTE, through its Group of Studies in Cinema and Digital Narratives in collaboration with the Melgaço Town Hall, Cinemateca Portuguesa, ESPAÇO MIRA and MIRA FORUM, the Federal University of Goiás, the Committee of Visual Anthropology of the Brazilian Anthropology Association, the Rey Juan Carlos University, the Federal University of Pará, the University of São Paulo - DIVERSITAS, the Mackenzie Presbyterian University and the Pará Ethnographic Film Festival (Grupo Visagem / PPGSA-UFPA).

OPTION 03 / Registration with room and board / single room
Accommodation in a hotel and meals on 29, 30 and 31 of July and 1, 2, 3 and 4 of August – 390€

OPTION 04 / (two people) – Registration with room and board/ double room
Accommodation in a hotel and meals on 29, 30 and 31 of July and 1, 2, 3 and 4 of August – 550€

OPTION 05 / Registration with board only
