impermanência, ou, da memória da vida de brandeiro

Impermanência, ou, da Memória da Vida de Brandeiro

Luís Miguel Portela Portugal, 2018

In the parish of Gave, impermanence has always been a constant. Long before immigration, transhumance already pushed its people away, those who climbed the mountain each summer to their high pastures to live, farm, graze livestock. But then everything changed. The road made the path easier and the transhumance unnecessary. The last brandeiros still take their herds up, but they are only a memory of that hard life that today is celebrated every year in the grasslands of Aveleira. It is that memory that this project aims to portray.
