Connie Field is a pioneer of social documentary film. Her work has been broadcast in over 30 countries. The director received an Emmy and was nominated for an Academy Award. Connie is the recipient of a John Simon Guggenheim grant, as well as numerous grants from the Ford Foundation, the National Endowment for the Humanities (and Arts), and the MacArthur Foundation and is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture, Arts and Sciences, as well as the Television Academy. Before starting to work as a director and producer, she was active in various social and human rights organizations.
